Cobán - Female
 Daily

As though her 5 pound skirt didn't weigh enough, the women adorn themselves with silver necklace. The necklaces are a symbol of their social status and wealth.  Her blouse is a shadow-weave, almost like a transparent lace.  The coral snake, their guardian spirit, is represented by a red wool tupui head ornament, wound round her hair and hanging to her ankles.

Language: Kekchí       Department: Alta Verapaz

Cobán is nestled in amongst jagged hills and mountains. As the clouds from the Caribbean come into Guatemala they collide into the mountain sides making a perfect atmosphere for orchids, coffee and cardamom.  The constant moisture produces a steady flow of water for whitewater rafting.
