The wide red bands on the blouse are similar to those in the mother pueblo of Comalapa.  This type of weave is called rep, where either the wrap or the weft is completely hidden by the filler, and very closely beaten down. It is worn loose, neither sewn under the arms, nor tucked into the skirt.
