Zacualpa - Female
 Daily

The close weave of the black skirt is finely joined to a second loom width of colorful cloth with a simple blanket stitch called "Randa." Her blouse is elaborate and elegant in style and color.  Except when working she always carries her Tzut on her head.

Language: Quiché             Department: El Quiché

Although close to Guatemala City by way the crow flies, Zacualpa is far from civilization.  A four hour drive on paved roads to Santa Cruz del Quiche and then another four hours on dirt roads, finally arriving at this remote village. (Six to seven hours in rainy season.)
