Santo Domingo Xenacoj - Female
 Daily

The women are excellent weavers and weave for several neighboring towns. Their own blouse is done in a double twist cotton both in wrap and weft.  This makes them stiff.  On the front is a double headed bird.  Similar to Totonicapan she too wears a ribbon in her hair depicting the Quetzal bird.

Language: Cakchiquel     Department: Sacatepéquez

Xenacoj means, "We feel the pumas." Although now the large cat can't be seen at one time they must have been a common occurrence.  Although close to Guatemala City the village continues to keep its old traditional ways.
