Totonicapán is the chief village for a larger area.  Sitting at the foot of high broken mountains covered with pines, spruce and oaks has made it a center for carpentry. The village is also know for its weaving.

Men here wear a double trousers: the white under trouser has lace on it, while the black wool over trouser is embroidered with colorful flowers.  Silver adorns the entire outfit.  The red headdress is tied and rests on the shoulders.
