The people in the village love animals.  It is obvious by the many animals woven into the blouse and shawl. The zigzag across the front depicts the hills around the village that are filled by animals.  The predominant color is yellow.

These villagers believe in the animal spirits and are extremely superstitious. The majority of the carnations sold in the markets around Guatemala are grown here.  Today many carnations are shipped to other countries from this small village.
