The wooded hills around the village are depicted by a large zigzag.  The love for animals is also apparent by the many birds and animals stitched onto their clothing.

These villagers believe in the animal spirits and are extremely superstitious. The majority of the carnations sold in the markets around Guatemala are grown here.  Today many carnations are shipped to other countries from this small village.
