San Pedro Soloma - Daily
 Female

Her long tunic resembles those worn by the original Mayans many centuries ago. Starting at her neck there are rings after rings of embroidery. The women here always wear one tunic and carry another on their heads.

Language: Kanjobal       Department: Huehuetenango

Soloma meaning, "without security," is a fitting description of the valley plagues by fires, landslides, floods, earthquakes and disease. Only recently has the town begun to find peace through religious fervor.
