San Pedro is one of very few towns that weave with silk. Their yellow based skirt is so thin they must wear a second underneath. Their cotton blouse is embroidered with silk cloth as well.

Because of the villagers help in conquer Guatemala, the King of Spain gave them special privileges in 1543.  Even with that the town hasn't changed.
