The indigenous population is divided into 5 distant social classes, each with slight differences in the blouses.   The higher the class the more pagan symbols they weave into their blouse.  The skirt is loose with a yellow blouse.  Around the neck they skillfully weave birds and flowers.

Quetzaltenango sits in a beautiful valley at 8,000 feet above sea level ensuring warm days, cool nights and no mosquitoes. The valley is surround by nine immense volcanoes. The Mayans call the place Xelajú, or Xela for short.
