Santiago Atitlán - Daily
 Female

Her Red tie-dyed skirt wraps around numerous times before being gathered in the front.  The white blouse is striped with various colors and embroidered with geometric shapes around the neck.  The distinguishing feature here is her halo like headdress. Carefully she winds the one inch ribbon around and around her head.  The halo stays in place all day long.

Resting at the foot of the Toliman Volcano on the shores of Lake Atitlán, the villagers are know for their "Cayucos," dugout canoes.  At one time they specialized in transporting coastal crops from the southern shores to the highland villages in the north. Now they are a strong tourist attraction. They are also recognized for their worship of a wooden saint called Maximón.
